1.College Overview
College of Architecture and Urban Planning,Chongqing Jiaotong University(¡°the College¡±for short)was officially founded in July 2015 to seize opportunities and optimize layout of disciplines and specialties in a new stage when higher educationwasbeing transformed to achieve higher quality. The Collegewasbuilt based on the former Department of Architecture of School of Civil Engineering and the Department of Resources and Environment of Hehai College.Currently, the College has 3 departmentsof teaching¡ªthe Department of Architecture, the Department of Planning and Landscape and the Department of Land and Resources and 1 Experimental Teaching Center for Architectural and Urban-Rural Environment; the College currently has 1 first-level discipline master¡¯s degree program and 5 undergraduate programs;thereare 79 full-time teachers, including 26 doctors and 26 persons with senior titles; the College currently has more than 900 undergraduates and more than 100 full-time postgraduates.The College has 1municipal-levelkey scientific and research platform, 2university-level key scientific and research platforms and 1 Class-B design and research institute; the Collage has also set up teaching and research platforms,including the BIM Laboratory, the GIS Experimental Center and the Architectural Construction Laboratory.

5.Discipline and Specialty Construction
Since theenrollment of undergraduates in 2000, the College adhered to the principle of cultivating talents and developed a highly featured discipline and specialty system, and startedenrolling postgraduates since 2007. Currently, the College has developed two featured discipline and specialty groups among Chongqing¡¯s universities: Architecture and Geographic Information Science. Teachers come from disciplines and specialties,including architecture, urban-rural planning, geography, landscape architecture and artistic design and have abundant achievements in teaching and research.
Architecture program
This specialty has 1 professional-degree master's program¡ªLandscape Architecture, and 1 professional-degree master training program¡ªCivil and Water Engineering. The professional-degree master training program for civil and water engineering started enrollment since 2001 with two research directions set up: architectural design and relevant theories, and architectural technology and science; the professional-degree master¡¯s program for landscape architecture started enrollment since 2016 with four research directions set up: landscape architecture planning and design, ecological landscape and restoration technology, traffic landscape engineering and technology, digital landscape and public art.
Geography program
The Collegestartedenrolling postgraduates for natural geography since 2007; since 2011 when the discipline was granted first-level discipline program for geography, it startedenrolling professional postgraduates for natural geography, human geography, cartography and geographic information system. It was the first science-oriented first-level discipline master¡¯s program and also a key discipline of Chongqing Jiaotong University, under which 4 research directions were set up: evolution and risk control for natural disasters in mountainous regions, environmental changes and ecological safety, traffic geography and application of 3S technologies and high-density urban upgrading and highly efficient and integrated utilization of land. It was granted Chongqing Municipality¡¯s key discipline in 2017.
Architecture specialty
This specialty is a featured specialty of Chongqing Municipality¡¯s universities and a first-class undergraduate specialty development discipline. A secondary discipline¡ªArchitecture¡ª is set up in the field of architecture and civil engineering to enroll postgraduates. This discipline becomes afeatured discipline and specialty groups among Chongqing¡¯s universities when combining with the specialty of civil engineering into the discipline of civil architecture.Specialties are well supported with unique industrial and regional characteristics. Its talent cultivation system is highly recognized by the society for talent quality. This specialty is strong in schooling. Most of its teachers comesfrom the ¡°Eight Old Universities¡± in the field of architecture and well-known domestic and foreign architectural universities. 58% of the teaching staff hassenior titles. Professional teachers have two positions. On the current staff are 8 national first-class registered architects, 2 registered urban-rural planners, 1 first-class landscape architect, and 11 with engineering titles.
Landscape Architecture specialty
The Collegeenrolls students by the major category of architecture,whichis the only specialty of landscape architecture taught with a scientific background among Chongqing Municipality¡¯s universities. This specialty is featured in ¡°traffic + landscape¡± and aims to cultivate wide-scope and high-quality application talents for landscape architecture based on the need for urban-rural development. This specialty is based on Chongqing Municipality¡¯s master tutor team and the professional-degree master¡¯s program for landscape architecture, with the ¡°undergraduate-postgraduate¡± integrated cultivation system established, which takes the lead in similar specialties in southwest China. It has strong schooling force consisting of 15 full-time teachers, 1 landscape architecture discipline leader of Chongqing Municipality, 1 person with senior title, 4 with associatesenior title, 5 two-position teachers and 5 master tutors. On the staff are also 1 national first-class registered architect and 1 national registered urban-rural planner.
Urban-Rural Planning specialty
This specialty was started in 2015 and studentswere enrolledby the major category of architecture as a five-year engineering specialty. Together with the specialty of architect, it is now a comprehensive reform demonstration specialty of Chongqing Jiaotong University, a featured discipline specialty group of Chongqing¡¯s universities and a featured specialty of Chongqing¡¯s universities. It is also currently the core support for the University¡¯s municipality-level discipline and specialty construction programs such as ¡°high-level new engineering-oriented university¡±, ¡°Chongqing Smart City College¡± and ¡°Smart City¡± discipline group. This specialty has 8 professional teachers and is advantaged in the combination of ¡°engineering-oriented¡± architectural planning specialties with ¡°science-oriented¡± geographical planning specialties; compared with other specialties of the University, it is highly advantaged in interdisciplinary research regarding to discipline construction such as ¡°smart city planning, urban intelligent manufacturing, smart city water affairs,andsmart city traffic¡±.
Human Geography and Urban-Rural Planning specialty
The Undergraduate's Program for Resources, Environment and Urban-Rural Management was set up in 2001 and intended to enroll one class of students. In 2013, it was changed to the Human Geography and Urban-Rural Planning specialty according to the Ministry of Education¡¯s catalogue of specialties.This specialty aims to cultivate high-quality specialized talents grasping the basic theories, knowledge and skills of human geography and urban-rural planning and engaged in the management, development or application of land and resources space planning, urban-rural development planning, investigation, evaluation and dynamic monitoring of natural and humanistic resources.
Geographic Information Science specialty
The Undergraduate¡¯s Program for Geographic Information Science was set up in 2006, intending to enroll one class of students. In 2013, it was changed to the Geographic Information Science specialty according to the Ministry of Education¡¯s catalogue of specialties. This specialty is driven by temporal-spatial big data and intelligent innovation and covers areas from smart city construction to natural resources investigation, monitoring of national geographic conditions and land and resources space planning. It focuses on processing, analysis and application service of geographic data and provides education on systematic theories and engineering quality, so as to highlight the cultivation of practical capabilities.
6.Scientific Research and Academic Exchange
In recent years, our teachers have undertaken more than 20 national and 60 provincial/ministerial scientific research projects, won more than 20 national patents, published more than 20 Chinese/English monographs and textbooks, as well asmore than 500 academic papers, including more than 100SCI/EI/CSCD/CSSCI retrieval papers. Our achievements in scientific research have won many awards, including the second prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ministry of Education, first and second prizes for Scientific Progress of China Highway & Transportation Society, first prize of the Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Society of Soil and Water Conservation; our design works have won the golden prize of Optimal Design Scheme of China Human Living Paradigm, the golden prize of West China Eco-Environment and Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Design Award, the bronze prize of the National Yuanye Awards, etc.

The College currently has 3 master¡¯s degree programs (Geography, Landscape Architecture and Civil and Architectural Engineering), 1 Chongqing first-class key discipline (Geography), 1 Chongqing Municipality key scientific research platform (Chongqing Municipality BIM Engineering Technology Research Center), 1university-level key scientific research platform (China Southwest Rural Revitalization and Urban-Rural Sustainable Development Research Center) and 1 Class-B design and research institute (Architectural Landscape Planning Branch, Chongqing Jiaoting University Engineering Design Research Institute).

In recent years, our students won numerous awards in a series of science and technology competitions,including the UIA-HYP Cup International Student Competition in Architectural Design, the ¡°GrainRain Cup¡± National College Students Sustainable Architectural Design Competition, the "Challenge Cup" National College Student Business Plan Competition, the National University GIS Application Skills Contest, the "Internet+" College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, the National University ¡°Thsware Cup¡± BIM Software Architectural Information Modeling Competition, the ¡°BeidouCup¡± China Adolescents Science & Technology Innovation Contest, comprehensive Innovation Contest of NACTranS, etc. Besides, our students have won 4 national and more than 10 provincial/ministerial programs on entrepreneurship and innovation training for college students and published more than 30 academic papers.
8.Colorful Life

9.Selection of Teachers¡¯ Winning Works
Our teachers, setting foot in Southwest China, are an important part of our scientific research innovation system together with our Architecture and Urban-Rural Environment Experimental Teaching Center, Architectural Landscape Planning Branch, Chongqing Jiaoting University Engineering Design Research Institute and other scientific research entities, who are focusing their efforts on transforming basic research achievements into technologies and product services, so as to give full play to the supportive role of scientific research innovation in economic and social development of Chongqing. Scientific and technological R&D, consultation, education and training, industrial nurturing, etc. are offered to the society with the main features of ¡°rural construction¡± and ¡°traffic building¡±, so as to provide talents, knowledge and intelligence to Chongqing and even the entire Southwest China.
